Meghdoot (or Meghadūta) means "the cloud messenger." The word combines megha (cloud) and dūta (messenger). It is most famously known as the title of the celebrated Sanskrit poem by Kalidasa, in which an exiled Yaksha sends a message to his beloved through a passing cloud.
